In the Cut: Editing and Its Secrets

The special edition that frames the extended tribute of the 62nd Thessaloniki International Film Festival to film editing features critical notes by nine of the most important editors of (both domestic and international) production, invited by the Festival to curate a special carte blanche selecting films that affected them the most in their practice, long read interviews with masters Walter Murch and Yorgos Lamprinos, close analyses of some of the most emblematic scenes in the history of cinema, but also texts examining the dialogue between film editing and other arts. A unique guide to a structural element of cinema, which reveals its secrets while establishing its technical, technological, and (primarily) artistic principles.
